JARC is a Farmington Hills, Michigan-based nonprofit, nonsectarian agency dedicated to enabling people with disabilities to live full, dignified lives in the community, and to providing support and advocacy for their families.
JARC operates 20 group homes and a variety of independent living programs for adults, and serves more than 300 families which have a child or adult with a disability who is living at home.
JARC's programs fall into 3 divisions:
- The Lama and Samuel Shetzer Independent Living Services Division enables individuals to live in their own apartments, condominiums or homes, with staff support tailored to each person’s needs.
- The Samuel and Jean Frankel Residential Services Division owns and operates 20 group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Each home provides 24-hour care for up to six residents.
- The Merle and Shirley Harris Children and Family Division provides a range of services and support to families who have a child with any disability still living at home.
