JARC ANNOUNCES NEW CEO

Richard Loewenstein to Succeed Joyce Keller

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 11, 2008 – JARC President Craig Erlich announced today that Richard A. (Rick) Loewenstein has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for JARC. He will succeed Joyce Keller, who is retiring following 30 years as the organization’s Executive Director. Rick assumes his new position July 21 and will transition with Keller during the summer. “After an exhaustive national search, I am delighted to announce that we will soon welcome Rick Loewenstein as JARC’s new CEO,” said Craig Erlich. “Rick comes with a wealth of non-profit and fundraising experience and is a leader in the community. Our organization is most fortunate to attract someone of his caliber. We believe he is the perfect individual to build on Joyce’s noteworthy successes.”

As CEO, Loewenstein will be responsible for the leadership and management of JARC.This includes direct responsibility for Board relations, operational and program management, community relations and fundraising, financial management and human resources management.

Loewenstein is currently Chief Advancement Officer of Cranbrook Educational Community, where he has been an integral part of the success of its recent $150 million comprehensive campaign.  He is also a past CEO of Gleaners Community Food Bank.
